Hi guys, One of these has been given to me,all it does at switch on is display "-38db",pushing any button on the front panel changes nothing and the only way to switch it off is to do so at the power point ,any help on this would be apreciated,russell.

Try a eeprom reset by pressing the 2 button on the remote control and at the same time the STOP button on front of unit.
Check EEPROM settings which should be

option  00     06
           01     59
           02     31
           03     00
           04     00

Then press ENTER key on remote control   and should say on screen FLD OK
Then press 2 button on remote and stop button on front panel at same time again and unit should switch off
Remove power and reconned and turn on

Sorry joe but can not find a button on the front panel marked" stop ",could you please expand more fully on your previous explanation,thanks in advance russell.

Hi Russell, its the stop button.If its not marked stop then it will be the one with the square symbol on it

Yep youre right no stop button.Sorry about the bum steer but i got the info straight out of the service manual.
I will have another look and let you know
