SONY Camcorder: DCR-TVR265E "clogged heads"

It appears, this unit, a sony model: DCR-TRV265E, has dirty video heads (macro blocks, blue screen, 2 horizontal bands across the screen, etc. etc. all the signs of clogged video heads) have cleaned all heads BUT the problem stil persists. Initially, the error c:22:00 would appear, but now no more.

The camcorder has been in use for over 6 years and used very often, I am suspecting heads worn out and new drum assembly may be needed.

The disadvantage of this unit is that in REW/FF, the heads are in contant touch with the tape. Usually, other models would relax the tape to prolong video head life.

Any idears how to go about cleaning the heads more effectively ??
