Hi All
This unit has come in with no sound from the tuner.
I tried another tuner from a similar unit but no success.
On all inputs sound coming in goes out again and can even be recorded.
I'm hoping someone has seen this before because the next step is a service manual and some tracking down.
I figure somewhere before the switching chip.
Many thanks for any advice.
Muzza

Hi Chaps, i wonder if someone can offer some light on this one please. It is a LG Dvd/Hdd RH4940. It sits there all day saying "Please wait". I have changed some high esr caps in psu, all rails look clean and correct with cro. I've tried unplugging / reseating cables etc, tried disconnecting hdd and dvd, all to no avail. I noticed whilst it's "waiting", you can hear the dvd and hdd cut off/ reset. Checking the power rails, the 5 volt and 12 volt to the hdd/dvd cut out. These rails are controlled by two of, 4 pin regulators. I'm assuming they're being told to turn off by the micro, for whatever reason. Do we suspect the controller board? I've had these go commonly with LG RH7521W's. From memory, fairly cheap to replace. Thanks for any help.

Regards, Canno.

Hi all, this will not power up at all. Replaced Q7904 in stand by supply. has 2.5v stand by only, not the full 5 volts. Q7904 is a surface mount, and had been running hot, so used a BC548 in place of it. should work ok, with less heat stress. Any help on this be good. Regards. Geoff
